Like yesterday, the event took place in the Medallistas Hall of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee and brought together, from the early morning hours, hundreds of participants who will be part of the competition’s safety operation. The opening ceremony was led by the CEO of the ueno Rally del Paraguay, César Marsal, and the president of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee and IOC member, Camilo López Moreira, who welcomed the attendees and highlighted the importance of the commitment and responsibility that each rally marshal assumes at a world-class event.
Throughout the day, the organizing team conducted various training sessions focused on the duties that the marshals will perform during the competition. The presentations covered aspects related to the event’s overall safety, the work of marshals in each sector of the stages, public safety, procedures at starts and finishes, road crossings, support for the safety convoy, race control, medical assistance, and sports coordination, as well as operational guidelines, credentials, and the use of radio communication systems.
One of the day’s highlights was the panel featuring Paraguayan World Rally Championship drivers Diego Domínguez and Alejandro Galanti, who shared their experiences in the sport’s top category, answered participants’ questions, and emphasized the importance of the work and role of rally marshals in ensuring that each special stage can be contested safely and successfully.
In the afternoon, the training continued with specific modules dedicated to medical care, the functioning of the safety convoy, and the operation of radio and red-flag stations, allowing participants to delve deeper into the protocols that will be applied during the competition.
Rally marshals represent one of the most important pillars in the organization of a rally. Their presence along the stages, coordination with safety teams, and ability to respond to any situation make their work an indispensable element in protecting drivers, teams, and spectators during every stage of the event.
With this second day, Rally Weekend continues to consolidate the joint efforts between organizers, authorities, and volunteers, strengthening the preparation of those who will be part of the first edition of the ueno Rally del Paraguay as a round of the World Rally Championship. More than just a training session, the gathering reaffirmed the commitment, passion, and spirit of service of hundreds of people who, from various points along the route, will play a leading role in an event that will put Paraguay in the global spotlight.
