Paraguayan driver Diego Domínguez Bejarano, currently a star of international motorsports, is experiencing an unforgettable moment in Finland, where he is participating in the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC). From there, he expressed his deep emotion at the support of the President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, who is on an official mission in that country, and took the opportunity to invite the world to the new ueno Rally del Paraguay, which will take place from August 28 to September 1 in Itapúa.
“A historic moment in my life and in the lives of all Paraguayans! Seeing our President Santiago Peña invite the whole world to the next event—in our beautiful Paraguay—is a dream come true. Let’s make it the best Rally on the calendar! Let’s make our hospitality and conduct an example! Let’s make history! We await you with open arms—in the beautiful department of Itapúa—from August 28 to 31,” Domínguez said enthusiastically.
For his part, President Santiago Peña shared a message on his social media highlighting the pride that Diego represents for the country and the opportunity that the Rally provides to show the world the best of Paraguay:
“Paraguay is accelerating toward the world. At the end of our day today, I accompanied Diego Domínguez’s symbolic start in the WRC, a Paraguayan pride that leaves our flag at the top of world motorsports. I took the opportunity to invite the world to the Rally Paraguay, which will take place from August 28 to September 1 in Itapúa, with the best drivers on the planet. In addition to the sporting spectacle, Paraguay offers unique landscapes, vibrant culture, and unparalleled hospitality. We are ready to show the world what we are capable of.”

An upward trajectory that inspires the country
Diego Domínguez Bejarano has established himself as one of the great promises of world rallying. In 2024, he made history by becoming the WRC3 world champion, the first Paraguayan to do so, after his victory in the Rally de Chile Biobío. That same year, he added victories in the Rally de Polonia, achieving three consecutive wins in the season.
In 2025, he continued his winning streak by conquering the Trans Itapúa Rally, coming back from fourth place in a thrilling finish. More recently, in the 69th edition of the Acropolis Rally in Greece, he won two of the four special stages of the Smokovo section (26.16 km), which took him to third place on the podium.
With these achievements, Diego not only accumulates titles and podiums, but also projects Paraguay to the top of international rallying, with his sights set on reaching the podium in Trinidad on August 31.
