The event provided media representatives with information on the key aspects of the organization, the latest developments for this second edition of the World Rally Championship in Paraguay, and the details that will shape the competition over the coming days.
The conference also served as a forum for direct dialogue between the organizers and journalists, allowing them to answer questions, share official information, and support the work of those responsible for reporting to the Paraguayan public and the world on everything that happens during the Rally.
Ricardo Deggeller, Deputy CEO of the WRC ueno Rally del Paraguay, welcomed journalists, photographers, and videographers, highlighting the rally’s various activities. “We expect to welcome more than 60,000 people here. That’s why we want this edition to offer an experience that isn’t limited to the race itself, but includes many activities that make the rally a great experience for the public.”
For her part, MITIC Deputy Minister of Communication Alejandra Duarte welcomed the large media presence and introduced the Media Center. “This space is for you and designed to support your work during this rally. We want the experience—especially the working experience—to be befitting of an event of this magnitude.”
Duarte also highlighted key considerations for effectively covering the event. “Always keep in mind that we are available to assist with whatever may arise, and we ask that you always remember the safety measures so that this rally remains the best rally in the world.”
Rodrigo Maluff, Senior Advisor to the President of the Republic of Paraguay, emphasized that “this rally features many innovations. The most significant one is the major effort to make this rally sustainable. Reducing carbon emissions is this team’s top priority for 2026.”
Maluff also highlighted the event’s proximity to the public. “We’re going to have a Super Special stage in the city, taking the rally outside the traditional stages and allowing people to experience it up close, even in the city,” he concluded.
Finally, Lluisa Torras, International Press Officer, thanked the media for their support. “I am sincerely grateful for the great respect you have shown toward the accreditation processes and the FIA’s guidelines for these procedures.”
“This year, the challenge is once again enormous. But so is the opportunity to show the world a Paraguay that organizes, hosts, works on, and celebrates a world-class sporting event. And in that challenge, the media plays an essential role,” Torras concluded.
From the stages to the Fan Zone, from the athletes to the stories unfolding behind the scenes, the media are strategic partners in bringing the WRC experience to all of Paraguay and the world. For this reason, the media will also be tasked with showcasing the stories unfolding around the competition: the work of the volunteers, the security operations, sustainability initiatives, community involvement, the Fan Zone, the Service Park, the Official WRC Museum, and the various public services supporting the event.
