The third day of the WRC, the 2026 Paraguay Rally, despite the standings in the various categories remaining virtually unchanged, ultimately bore witness to Sami Pajari’s clear intentions to put himself within striking distance of the title, threatening the lead held by Elfyn Evans (his team-mate) with the gap now down to just 20 points, whilst Oliver Solberg jumped to third place in the standings, 41 points behind the Welshman leading the championship with three rounds remaining.
The first victory in Rally2 cars, and on home soil no less: Diego Domínguez Bejarano, who suffered the misfortune of retiring in last year’s event, capped off a flawless performance on his home soil, securing a flawless victory in the WRC2 and WRC2 Challenger support championships, backed by MSI Racing Team and with Spanish co-driver Rogelio Peñate on board the Toyota GR Yaris Rally2.

In terms of points scored, Sami Pajari took just the 25 points in the overall standings, whilst the Super Sunday points went to Sébastien Ogier and the Power Stage was won by Oliver Solberg. With this weekend’s results, Toyota will still have to wait until Chile to attempt to match Lancia’s record with an almost imminent tenth manufacturers’ title.
