The original idea behind the project was clear from the start: to conduct documentary-style interviews that would serve as a historical record of the run-up to an unprecedented event. Through this format, the aim is to show the experiences, challenges, and personal and professional contributions of those behind the organization of the Rally del Paraguay.
“We want the main pillars of the event to share their perspective. We want to show the human face behind every decision, every effort, every day of work. This content not only accompanies the run-up to the event, but also builds memory,” explains Cardozo.
A human approach to a global event
The content of the interviews focuses on humanizing the organizational process. The aim is to show that behind the technical and logistical machinery involved in an event of this magnitude, there are people with stories, emotions, and deep commitments. From those responsible for strategic planning to those in charge of security, logistics, communication, and volunteering, each one contributes an essential piece to the machinery that will allow Paraguay to shine before the world.
The interviews are conducted with respect for each participant’s time and availability, but with the clear objective of connecting with the fundamental pillars of the event. The result is a series of testimonials that reveal not only the work, but also the passion that drives each of those involved.
Broadcast and multiplatform coverage
Road to the World Rally Championship is broadcast weekly on different media, ensuring wide national coverage:
- GEN: Sundays from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.
- Canal 13 and Unicanal: Sundays from 9:00 to 10:00 p.m.
- Paraguay TV: Mondays from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Each episode is presented as a stand-alone piece, but they all form part of a larger story: the road to Paraguay’s first Rally on the official WRC calendar.
Discoveries that reveal the magnitude of the challenge
As the interviews progress, the true scale of the event is revealed. The diversity of activities required to stage a world-class competition, the pressure of meeting international standards, and the total commitment of each area involved are some of the aspects that stand out most in the testimonies.
“We are discovering that this event is not only big because of its sporting impact, but also because of the number of people who are giving their all to make it possible. Every story we tell is a testament to that commitment,” says Cardozo.
Beyond journalistic coverage, Camino al Mundial is intended as an audiovisual legacy. A document that will remain for future generations as a testimony of how Paraguay prepared to welcome the world. Because, as Cardozo rightly points out, “the first time is something you never forget.”
This project seeks to make the Paraguay Rally not only unforgettable for those who experience it from the inside, but also to have an impact internationally, showing that the country is ready to be a protagonist on the global motorsport stage.
