The training was led by César Palacios, Director General of Strategic Communication at MITIC and PR for the Government for the Rally del Paraguay, and Analía Borba, Director of Communication at MITIC, with the support of the National Secretariat of Tourism (Senatur). The event brought together more than 60 local journalists, who celebrated being prioritized for this key informational event. It was announced at the event that the global opening of applications will be on Saturday, June 28, and the closing dates will be Thursday, August 7, for the National Press, and Wednesday, August 13, for the International Press.
Filling out the application does not mean automatic approval; it is subject to review and is approved according to the following conditions:
- Compliance with minimum dissemination requirements (available in the MEDIA section of the website – circulation, reach, views)
- Media market of the country hosting the event
- Upload of all required documentation
- Accreditations will be issued solely and exclusively to individual applicants; third parties will not be allowed to collect the corresponding credentials of approved applicants. Likewise, they MUST present the proof of approval that will be issued to them, as ORIGINAL documentation proving their identity (ID card, passport, driver’s license, or similar).
In the case of the national press, the digital ID card generated through the electronic identity on Portal Paraguay will be accepted.
“This is a great opportunity to position Itapúa before the world. The training not only strengthens the journalistic coverage of the event, but also promotes regional development and tourism,” said the organizers.
This initiative is part of a series of actions aimed at ensuring professional, safe, and high-level coverage of the World Rally Championship (WRC), which will take place at the end of August in 13 districts of the department of Itapúa, including Encarnación, Cambyretá, Capitán Miranda, Carmen del Paraná, General Artigas, Coronel Bogado, Nueva Alborada, and Colonias Unidas (Bella Vista, Hohenau, and Obligado), culminating in Trinidad.
In addition to its sporting dimension, the Paraguay Rally represents a firm commitment to local development and the international positioning of Itapúa as a first-class tourist destination. By investing in human capital and communications infrastructure, the aim is to leave behind installed capacities that will benefit the community beyond the event.
The event included an experiential tour of the Jesuit Missions and an emotional performance by the Mbya Guaraní Choir, which added a cultural and symbolic component to the day.
