“The arrival of the WRC in Paraguay is not just a competition, it is the fruit of years of work and a unique opportunity to show the world our passion, our organizational capacity and our world-class roads”, Marsal proudly pointed out.
The WRC ueno Rally del Paraguay will be the tenth round of the championship, between Finland and Chile, and will be run from August 28 to 31, with the epicenter in the Department of Itapúa and the city of Encarnación as the base of operations. “Encarnación not only offers infrastructure and connectivity, but it is also a city with identity and sports tradition. The environment is ideal to experience the rally party”, commented the CEO.
A challenging road map
Marsal detailed that the competition will total 951.59 kilometers, of which 334.52 will be special stages. The schedule starts on Thursday, August 28 with the Shakedown in Trinidad, a 4.92-kilometer section, and will continue with three intense stages until Sunday, August 31.
“We designed a route that combines technique, speed and spectacle. We wanted each day to offer a different challenge for the teams and at the same time for the public to enjoy from strategic and safe points”, he explained.
Friday, August 29: Eight special stages including Cambyretá, Nueva Alborada and Yerbatera, plus a double pass through the Autódromo de Capitán Miranda, totaling 140.90 timed kilometers.
Saturday 30: Seven stages between Carmen del Paraná, Artigas and Cantera, again with action at the racetrack. “Saturday will be a key day in sporting terms and also in visibility, with two stages broadcast live on television”, said Marsal.
Sunday 31: The shortest day in kilometers (80.02), but no less intense, with the emblematic Wolf Power Stage at the Jesuit Missions of Trinidad. “We wanted to close with a cultural and historical seal. What better than to do it in a World Heritage Site. It will be an epic finale”, he assured.
An organization at the height of the WRC
Marsal highlighted that the FIA, the WRC promoter and the participating teams have praised the meticulous logistical preparation. “We have more than 900 people directly involved in the organization, and work is being done on key aspects such as safety, medical assistance, environmental control and connectivity”, he said.
In addition, the event will be attended by the President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, at the official launch that took place last April 8 in Mburuvicha Róga. “The institutional backing has been fundamental for this to become a reality”, he added.
A party for everyone
Finally, César Marsal emphasized the positive impact that the rally will bring to Paraguay, not only in sports, but also in economic, social and touristic aspects. “The Paraguay Rally is going to leave a legacy. It projects us to the world as a country capable of organizing top-level events and strengthens the local motorsport industry. The best of all is that it will be a party that we will all live together.”
With the roar of the engines getting closer, the country is already palpitating for what promises to be an unforgettable edition of the WRC, with a Guarani flavor.
