With the clear objective of gaining mileage and experience ahead of what will also be his confirmed participation in the upcoming Rally Paraguay, Fabrizio Zaldívar, reigning two-time FIA-CODASUR rally champion and 2023 National Rally Champion, competed in the renowned Delfi Rally Estonia, known for being one of the fastest on the calendar.
Aboard the Toksport WRT Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 and navigated by Italian-Argentine Marcelo Der Ohannesian, he made a good impression right from the Shakedown, finishing first in the RC2 class with a time of 2 minutes and 5.8 seconds on his second attempt, beating even more experienced and local drivers.
During the three stages of the competition, he maintained a steady pace that kept him in the top 10, and after completing the 308.35 kilometers of special stages, he finished in ninth position in the RC2 class. His brother, Miguel Zaldívar Jr., also participated in this rally alongside Argentine Luis Allende, also in a Škoda Fabia RS Rally2, but he withdrew after a mistake in the fourth special stage on Friday.
