The Organizing Committee of the WRC Ueno Rally of Paraguay 2025 is working decisively to implement actions to minimize the environmental impacts that may occur during the event, with the support of local authorities, municipalities involved in the rally, environmental authorities, as well as service providers in charge of the collection and final disposal of solid waste.
As this is the first global-scale event to take place in Paraguay, our environmental commitment is focused on addressing primary impacts and measuring secondary impacts, in order to establish a baseline record that will allow us to adapt the environmental policy for future events. As an initial step, we have decided to promote actions such as carbon footprint measurement and the reforestation of native species across the 13 participating districts, as well as:
Recyclable waste bags will be distributed along the rally route as well as among organizers and spectator, in order to segregate the waste generated in the Service Park area. Hazardous waste such as oil and fuel will be separated in designated drums for proper final disposal.
As a significant initiative highlighting the environmental commitment of the Hohenau community, a historic environmental recovery plan was launched.
Since December 2024, the Hohenau community, together with MADES authorities and the Rally Organizing Committee, has initiated the remediation of the former municipal landfill of the San José neighborhood, carrying out intensive cleaning, leveling, and restoration works to transform a degraded space into a key landmark of the most spectacular stage of the WRC Ueno Rally of Paraguay.
Rally cars´ washing area has been designated in the Service Park, equipped with the necessary conditions to ensure proper final disposal of gray water, thus preventing potential soil and water contamination.
Following FIA environmental guidelines, the use of chemical products for washing cars is strictly prohibited, allowing only the use of water.
Biodiversity and Protected Areas Preservation In order to respect the natural environment in which the WRC Ueno Rally of Paraguay 2025 takes place, the route design has preserved existing green areas, native trees, and flora. Additionally, the layout of the Service Park was modified to protect an owl nesting site.
The Award Ceremony will promote the World Heritage Site of the Jesuit Missions of Trinidad, in accordance with UNESCO guidelines.
Carbon Footprint Measurement In line with the Environmental Policy of the WRC Ueno Rally of Paraguay 2025, the services of an environmental consultancy have been contracted to measure the carbon footprint resulting from the event.
